Praying

Praying

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:8-13 how we should pray to the Father in Heaven exalting His name, knowing that it is going to be His will that is going to prevail and not ours. We ask for the provision of our daily bread, what is sufficient for that day.  We ask for forgiveness that enables us to forgive others which is very important.  We ask for His Divine protection acknowledging His power and glory, humbling ourselves before Him.

If you do not know Jesus, then introduce yourself. The sooner the better. Invite Him into your life. In fact, put your life in His hands for there are no better hands to be in.  Jesus knows all your needs. He knows everything about you, and He wants to hear from you; He really does.

Everyday issues will still have to be dealt with but being in Jesus will make all things so much more bearable to deal with. He will bring so many things into your life, peace, humility, patience, forgiveness, love, all these and more are there for the asking.

Although the picture above depicts a lady kneeling, there is no formal ritualistic way to pray, if you want to kneel that is fine. There is no need for long fine sounding words and prayers are not confined to a religious building. You can pray to Jesus anywhere anytime. Prayer comes from the heart. As you are reading this blog, you may feel like you want to pray – just do it – you can pray in the car, kitchen, anywhere at any time.  There is no need to research or seek out prayers. As I said, prayer comes from the heart. So today, speak what is in your heart. One thing is for sure you are not going to shock Jesus he has heard it all before. He wants to hear from you, me, everybody and at any time.  Luke 5:16 tells us that Jesus himself prayed

16 So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.

There is no time scale for prayers or praying. Prayers have no borders.  Do not wait until everything is going to fall apart, do not wait till the darkness totally envelops you. Open your heart and cry out to Jesus long before then. He is waiting.
