Our Chosen Path

Do you remember the first time we made this choice?

A bit scary, a step we wanted to take but we had so many questions, so many things we wanted to know:

How do I read the Bible?      -   Not just read, we must Study it.
How do I pray?                      -   From a contrite heart fervently.
Will I get it all wrong?           -   We all get things wrong.
Will I feel a change?               -   Yes
What will it feel like?             -    Peace – John  14:27

Look at Proverbs 3 Verses 5 and 6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall [b]direct your paths.
NKJV

When I first give my life to Christ that was when my journey began, and, as with any journey I carried lots of baggage, baggage I did not need.  Pride, Anger, Self, Hate, Judging, No Love and the list went on.   Jesus never promised a smooth trouble-free path, what he did promise was that he would be with me every step of the way, that I could have a place in Heaven.
I sometimes fall short; we all sometimes fall short we are human with human frailties but being submissive to His will and letting him chip away the parts I do not need makes the journey smoother.

Even after many years walking on this path I acknowledge His work in me is not complete nor will it ever be till I die, yes the path I walk has potholes, sometimes uphill, sometimes it is partially washed away, but, Jesus is always there to lift me up and carry me when needed.

Remember at the start one of the questions was “what will it feel like?”   The answer was Peace, that I can attest to, attest to in His promise in John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. NJKV
