Looking at things from God’s perspective is an important factor for all Christians who believe in God and in His word implicitly. If we start to question or doubt the authority of God and His Word we will wander around just like the Israelites in the wilderness.
Having or putting on the mind of Christ is encouraged by the apostle Paul in his epistles for all Christians to live a life of victory. We all want to be victorious, successful and accomplish great things living a life in Christ. But to have that life promised by God has a price. Believers want the promises of God but they don’t want to pay the price. God’s thoughts and His ways are miles apart from the way we think and understand.
Isaiah 55:8 says “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways says the Lord”
The difference is God is sinless and we are sinful.
Hosea 4:6 says “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”
what this text saying is my people are making the wrong choices, wrong decisions and facing hardships and sufferings because they are not thinking the way God thinks. They are not putting on the mind of Christ. Having the mind of Christ is thinking the way Christ thinks which is spiritual and not carnal.
How do we think God’s thoughts, how do we know God’s ways? It is all revealed in His written word through the teaching of the Holy Spirit. The more you read and meditate upon the word of God the more you get to know God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Then you will begin to understand God’s thoughts more and His ways better.
Knowing and understanding God and His word, His thoughts and His ways are essential part of a Christian’s life. You can achieve this by walking in the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit is the key to teach and reveal all about God and His will through His word. When we receive and are baptised in the Holy Spirit we allow the Holy Spirit to help us, teach us, lead us, guide us and transform us. We do not rely on our own understanding, power or wisdom but on the power and the wisdom and direction of the Holy Spirit. This is how we develop a spiritual life and grow to know God and His thoughts, His ways and His will more in our lives.
1 Cor. 2:10 says “ But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
