Crying out

When the clock of our lives rolls on to our darkest hour how many of us have cried out to God, a God we never thought about before,  well really thought about?  We cried out sometimes for help, making promises most will not or could not ever keep, cried out blaming God for our misfortune or how could He allow such a thing to happen?  It is also strange that people do not believe in God but when someone they know dies, they assume they have gone to heaven, “Oh they are looking down on us”  “They are with the Angels now”

Then there is “I always believed in God, but I also believed God didn't think too much of me, ” or  “why would God want someone like me?”

In Luke 5:32 Jesus says “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Now when we cry out to God he does hear us but we must expect that it is going to take time, it is not a quick fix, it is a journey.  Top Chefs,  Academics, Self made Businessmen and women to get where they are took hard work, dedication, study, willingness to learn, to meet with failure but carry on, giving our lives to Jesus is no different.  In 1999 I was about to commit a very violent act and a small voice inside me, a small voice yet with authority said, “it is enough now it ends” I cried out to the God I had not thought about, except in my direst moments, 21 years later He is still teaching me, making me, moulding me, it is a two way street, we must empty ourselves of ourself to make room for Him in our lives.

I am not unique there are so many of us who became Christians via this route.  God does not say it will be easy.

In our lives as Christians we still meet with everyday problems but the difference is that with Gods Grace we are much better able to cope, we have contentment, peace and love, we learn forgiveness, repentance, humility as I said before it is a two way street we need to work at being a good Christian but God is always there with us and for us.

God is waiting for you, talk to Him.
